Who this is for
- Students applying to Oxford or Cambridge for medicine or dentistry.
- Students who are strong on prepared answers but uncomfortable being pushed on their reasoning.
- Students who need practice thinking aloud rather than producing a finished answer.
What's included
- Practice in the Oxbridge style, where the interviewer follows up and pushes on the reasoning.
- Work on scientific and problem solving questions built from school level material.
- Training in thinking out loud, so the interviewer can follow the working.
- Practice with unfamiliar and curveball questions where there is no prepared answer.
- Feedback on how the student handled being challenged or corrected mid answer.
- [TO CONFIRM] Number of sessions, session length and who teaches them.
How it works
- 1
Share the application
Send the course, college where relevant and the subjects the student is studying so the questions are pitched correctly.
- 2
Work through problem based questions
The student is given unfamiliar problems and asked to reason through them aloud, as they would be at interview.
- 3
Get pushed and corrected
The tutor follows up, challenges the reasoning and changes the problem, which is what the real interview does.
- 4
Review what to practise
Feedback on where the reasoning broke down and what to work on before the interview.
What you will be able to do afterwards
- Talk through a problem they have never seen before without going silent while they think.
- Take a correction or a follow up question mid answer and adjust rather than starting again.
- Apply school level science to an unfamiliar scenario and show the working while doing it.
