Medicine Interview Preparation Courses in the UK

An interview invitation is where a medical school application is truly won or lost. Grades and UCAT scores get a student to the door; the interview decides whether they walk through it. That is why structured interview preparation has become standard for serious applicants.
What UK medical schools actually assess
Interviewers are not testing textbook knowledge. They are scoring communication, empathy, ethical reasoning, teamwork, resilience and whether a student understands what a career in medicine really involves. Formats vary widely: most schools run Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) with timed stations, others use panel interviews, and some interview online. A student applying to four schools may face three different formats.
What good preparation looks like
Reading question banks is not preparation. The students who perform well have practised out loud, under time pressure, with feedback from someone who knows what interviewers are listening for. Structured preparation should cover motivation for medicine, NHS knowledge and current healthcare topics, the four principles of medical ethics, role-play and communication stations, work experience reflection, and university-specific formats including Oxbridge.
How our 12-week course approaches it
The Med School Entry 12-week course is taught live by Dr Rizvia Khan, FRCGP, a GP of 24 years and former medical school interviewer. Weeks 1 to 6 build the core knowledge every answer draws on: NHS structure and funding, medical ethics, GMC values and communication skills. Weeks 7 to 12 are intensive practice: MMI circuits, panel technique, role play, group tasks, ethics and data stations, hot topics and Oxbridge-style curveballs. Every session is live on Zoom, recorded, and open to questions.
Choosing what is right for your child
Whichever route you take, look for live practice rather than passive content, feedback from someone with real interview-panel experience, and coverage of the specific formats used by your child's chosen schools. Preparation started before invitations arrive is worth far more than a scramble in the week before the interview.
